The Sleeping Beauty

Second Chance Ballet present their brand new production of Marius Pepita’s classical ballet The Sleeping Beauty.

Pepita’s choreography and Tchaikovsky’s music will be brought to vivid life in this tale of the beautiful Princess Aurora, who is cursed at her christening by the wicked fairy Carabosse to prick her finger on a spindle and die. Through the goodness and protection of the Lilac Fairy, instead of dying when the prophecy is fulfilled on her sixteenth birthday, Aurora falls into an enchanted sleep for a hundred years until she is finally awoken by the kiss of Prince Désiré.

Second Chance Ballet provides classes for adult students of all ages, genders and ranges of ability.
Founded by Ruth Adams, circa 1965, now directed by Chee Shong Soon leading a group of enthusiastic adult ballet dancers filled with the joy of dance and performance.
